This year the Fish Habitat Build will be on the 2nd Saturday in January (January 11, 2025). Scouts will work under the supervision of their unit leaders and volunteers from the Certified Angler Instructor (CAI) program to build and place fish habitats made from repurposed Christmas trees. Those habitats will be used later in the year to attract fish the scouts can come back and catch! Participating scouts will earn conservation service hours. No pre-registration is necessary, but participating units should provide CAST Lead Hilary Thornton an estimated headcount. Participant Check-in will be at the Main Pavilion with the CAI team.  There will be three shifts, 9-11, 11-1, and 1-3 and volunteers can work longer if desired.  The CAST/CAI team is watching the weather and will only postpone in case of snow or camp closure.  If postponed, the Fish Habitat Build will be done on January 18 along with the big burn.
