Welcome to Allatoona Aquatics Base!
Allatoona Aquatics Base is 400 acres of lakefront property leased from the Army Corps of Engineers by the Atlanta Area Council. The camp is on Lake Allatoona just North of Metro Atlanta. This nearby camp is used throughout the year for weekend camping (excluding the months of June through August), day trips, and other Scout outings.
The main emphasis at Allatoona is Aquatics Merit Badges that runs June through August. Our base is one of the few in the United States that offers expert training in Aquatics Merit Badge. We are also a wonderful development facility for adult leadership in aquatics skills and much more.
Various trainings are held at Allatoona including Preparation for Northern Tier Canoeing and other leadership trainings throughout the year.
When not being used for our Aquatics Merit Badge programs, canoes, kayaks, stand up paddleboards and rowboats are available to Scouts & Scout leaders for use in the immediate vicinity of the base following Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat guidelines. Our powerboats and sailboats are dedicated to program use only.
